Two disciplines, one plan of care
Physical therapy gets patients moving safely. Occupational therapy gets them back to daily routines. We schedule and coordinate both, so patients and providers deal with one team.

When to refer
Patients who do well with therapy at home
Refer when a patient has lost function and can safely regain it with skilled therapy, especially when getting to outpatient therapy is hard.

- Recent hospital or rehab discharge
- Joint replacement or orthopedic surgery
- Stroke or other neurological condition
- Falls, or fear of falling
- Trouble bathing, dressing or moving around the home
- Weakness after illness or a long hospital stay
- Parkinson's, MS or another progressive condition
How it works
From referral to first visit

Online, by fax, or by phone. Include the order and insurance card if you have them.

We verify insurance
Our care coordinator checks benefits and requests prior authorization when the plan requires it.

Start of care
A licensed therapist visits for the first assessment and sends the plan of care to the provider for signature.

Ongoing updates
Progress updates go to the provider throughout care, and a discharge summary when goals are met.

Questions we hear often
Can one referral cover both PT and OT?
Yes. Check both on the form and we'll schedule both evaluations and coordinate one plan of care.
Who provides the therapy?
Licensed physical and occupational therapists. Therapy assistants may provide some visits under a therapist's supervision.
Does the patient need to be homebound?
Many insurance plans require it for home health. We confirm the patient's plan requirements when we verify benefits.

We work with Regence, Premera, Molina, LifeWise, Heritage, TriWest, L&I and more. See the full list above, or call us if you don't see your plan.
How soon can care start?
We call you within one business day of receiving the referral. The first visit is usually within 48 hours after we verify insurance and receive any required prior authorization. Urgent referrals are handled first.
Do you also provide home infusion?
Yes. Magenta Care is ACHC-accredited in home infusion therapy. Visit magentacares.com for infusion referrals.
