Understanding Your Care

Infusion Therapy at Home

Receiving Your Infusion Therapy at Home

If you've been prescribed infusion therapy, Magenta Care provides experienced Registered Nurses (RNs) who come to your home to administer your medication safely and comfortably. We work closely with your pharmacy and healthcare provider to make sure your treatment is delivered exactly as prescribed.

Our goal is to help you receive the care you need while staying in a familiar environment—without unnecessary trips to the hospital or infusion center.

What Is Home Infusion Therapy?

Home infusion therapy is a way for you to receive medications, fluids, or nutrition through a vein or injection in your own home. Some treatments cannot be taken by mouth or need to be given slowly and carefully. Infusion therapy allows your medication to be delivered directly into your bloodstream so it can work effectively.

Your Magenta Care nurse will:

  • Explain your treatment before starting
  • Monitor you closely during the infusion
  • Watch for side effects or reactions
  • Answer your questions and help you feel at ease

Why You May Need Infusion Therapy

You may be referred for home infusion therapy for many reasons, including:

Chronic or autoimmune conditions

Such as immune deficiencies requiring IVIG or SCIG, Crohn's disease, multiple sclerosis, or other inflammatory conditions that need ongoing treatment.

Infections that require IV antibiotics

Some infections respond best to medication given directly into the bloodstream.

Hydration or electrolyte support

If you are unable to drink enough fluids due to illness, vomiting, diarrhea, or recovery from a medical procedure.

Pain or symptom management

Certain medications work best when given intravenously for severe or hard-to-control symptoms.

Nutritional support

Intravenous nutrition (TPN) may be needed if your body cannot absorb nutrients normally.

Specialty or cancer-related therapies

Some treatments can be safely given at home instead of in a clinic or hospital.

Your nurse may administer one or more of the following therapies, depending on your prescription:

Your treatment plan is determined by your healthcare provider and pharmacy, and your nurse follows those instructions closely.

What to Expect From Your Infusion Nurse

Your Magenta Care nurse is specially trained in infusion therapy and will:

  • Start and manage your IV or injection safely
  • Care for PICC lines, ports, midlines, or peripheral IVs
  • Monitor you during and after treatment
  • Watch for side effects and respond quickly if needed
  • Teach you or your caregiver how to care for your line or medication, when appropriate
  • Communicate with your pharmacy and provider about your care

We take time to explain what's happening and make sure you feel informed and supported.

Care That Supports Your Comfort and Confidence

Home infusion therapy allows many patients to continue treatment while maintaining their routines and independence. Having a nurse come to your home can reduce stress, save time, and make treatment feel more manageable.

Magenta Care is here to support you throughout your therapy—answering questions, addressing concerns, and helping you feel confident in your care.
