How it works

From referral to first visit

  1. 1

    Send the referral

Online, by fax, or by phone. Include the order and insurance card if you have them.

  2. 2

    We verify insurance

Our care coordinator checks benefits and requests prior authorization when the plan requires it.

  3. 3

    Start of care

A wound care nurse visits for the first assessment and sends the plan of care to the provider for signature.

  4. 4

    Ongoing updates

Progress updates go to the provider throughout care, and a discharge summary when goals are met.

FAQ

Questions we hear often

Do you provide wound supplies?

We coordinate supplies for each patient through our supply partners. NPWT pumps come from a DME supplier that bills the patient's insurance.

How do you update the provider?

We send measurements, photos and progress at the frequency the provider wants, and right away if a wound gets worse.

Does the patient need to be homebound?

Many insurance plans require it for home health. We confirm the patient's plan requirements when we verify benefits.

Which insurance do you accept?

We work with Regence, Premera, Molina, LifeWise, Heritage, TriWest, L&I and more. See the full list above, or call us if you don't see your plan.

How soon can care start?

We call you within one business day of receiving the referral. The first visit is usually within 48 hours after we verify insurance and receive any required prior authorization. Urgent referrals are handled first.

Do you also provide home infusion?

Yes. Magenta Care is ACHC-accredited in home infusion therapy. Visit magentacares.com for infusion referrals.
